What is CUET (CUCET) Exam?

Common university entrance test erstwhile CU-CET is a common test being introduced for academic session 2022-23 for all undergraduate programmes in all central universities, in a nutshell if a candidate wants to take admission in any central university he/she will have to take this test and the merit will decide who will get which college.

Procedure of admission under CUET:

NTA (national testing agency) is an independent body under ministry of education which is responsible for registration of candidates, facilitating the test, hosting the answer key and preparing and declaring the result. 

After the test has been conducted and result has been announced, individual university will conduct counselling on the basis of the score card of CUET and then merit list will be prepared by participating universities.

Examination Scheme

  • Mode of examination: Computer based test
  • Medium of examination: Bilingual i.e. regional language and English
  • Pattern of CUET question paper: Objective type multiple choice questions
  • Timing of exam: 9 AM -12.15 PM (1st slot), 3 PM - 6.45pm (2nd slot)
  • Date of CUET Examination : first and second week of July 2023.

CUET 2023 Notification

UGC has released a detailed information PDF regarding the Upcoming CUET (CUCET) 2023 exam. As per the Released  CUET Notification 2023, CUET-UG 2023 will be conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) in the 1st week of July 2023. The online application form date has been extended till 22nd May 2023 (5 pm).

CUCET FAQs

CUCET (Central Unversity Common Entrance Test)  is now renamed CUET (Central Unversity Entrance Test.) The NTA will conduct CUET in the 1st  & 2nd  week of July 2022.

The Mode of examination in CUET will be online mode. The exam will be conducted for a duration of 2 hours as acomputer-based test mode.

  • EWS category: EWS certificate must be uploaded in the online application form which should have been issued on or after 1 jan 2022.
  • OBC category: certificate must be uploaded in the online CUET form which have been issued on or after 1 jan 2022.
  • SC/ST category: certificate must be uploaded in the online CUET form and must be issues as per the latest guidelines of the govt. of India

The Aplication form fess for CUET candidates are as follows:

    • UR/OBC/EWS – Rs. 800
    • SC/ST – Rs. 350
    • Pwd – Nil

No. There is no restriction on the number of attempts for CUCET.

No. There is no interview round involved in CUCET.

No. class 12th scores will not carry any weightage in CUCET
